The barrel is designed with a contour that balances rigidity and accuracy with light weight for improved maneuverability. The muzzle end of the barrel matches Faxon's skinny "Pencil" profile to reduce weight and maintain ease of handling. More metal is present from the gas block to the barrel extension to increase rigidity and prevent distortion due to heat buildup during extended shooting sessions.
