RCBS Steel Neck Bushings allow reloaders to choose a bushing that provides the exact amount of tension required for the bullet when using RCBS Gold Medal Match sizing dies. This ensures that the case neck brass is not overworked, prolonging the life of the case and improving accuracy. The bushings are self-centering to ensure proper alignment with the case neck. Using high-end brass with uniform neck thicknesses is recommended for optimal results. The bushings come "in-the-white," so regular case lubrication is necessary. They can only be used with RCBS Gold Medal sizing dies.

RCBS suggests having neck bushings one to two sizes above and below the target diameter. These Steel Neck Bushings are a vital component in achieving consistent shooting accuracy when using Gold Medal Match sizing dies.

Brownells Gun Tech™ Tip: Two methods can be used to select the steel neck bushings needed. The first method is to measure the outside neck diameter of the loaded cartridge and subtract 0.002-0.003 inches to allow approximately 0.001 inches of brass to spring back for the correct neck tension. The second method involves measuring the neck wall thickness of the case, multiplying it by two, adding the diameter of the bullet, and then subtracting 0.002-0.003 inches.
