For used barrels, start with the Medium-Coarse hone before moving on to the Fine hone to remove rough and tight spots and bring the bore to a bright finish. You'll be amazed at the difference - just run a patch through before and after to see and feel the improvement. You can even feel tight spots during honing and spend extra time on them to even them out.

For new barrels, the Fine hone by itself will bring the factory finish up to a beautiful, mirror-bright finish that will please your customers. To use Flex Hone, simply chuck it into a variable speed electric drill, wet it with Flex Hone oil, start the drill, and insert the hone into the barrel from the breech end if possible. As you cut, a slurry of abrasive and oil will develop to speed up the cutting action.
