J-B has been a reliable formula since the 1960s to clean the most stubborn fouling from gun barrels without causing any damage to the rifling. It has continued to prove itself to be effective even against the dirtiest, moly-fouled barrels. What sets J-B apart is its unique combination of ingredients and a multi-step mixing process that results in a soft paste that liquifies as it is used and wipes out of the bore with ease. Additionally, it does not contain any abrasive residues that could continue to cut after cleaning.
Gunsmiths have favored J-B for years and have found it to be a solution for guns that do not shoot accurately anymore. It restores accuracy and is ideal for match and varmint shooters who fire many rounds using moly coated bullets. There is large copper fouling and accumulated moly, which J-B can effectively clean. It is also ideal to use with Lewis Lead Remover to remove the last speck of leading out of pistol bores.
Even respected names in the shooting industry have praised J-B for its effectiveness. Jim Carmichel, gun writer and shooter, has used J-B for years and attests that it gets the job done. Warren Page, a benchrest shooting legend, also wrote of its benefits, describing it as an ultra-mild, abrasive oil paste that is finer than jeweler's rouge, and the answer to the problems of metal and powder fouling. He has shown that it can take out powder residue and mild metal streaking without damaging the barrel.
