EGW red dot sights should be installed from left to right, with the muzzle facing forward. The dovetail has a progressive taper to make the installation process easier.

To mount your Vortex Viper/Venom, Burris FastFire, or Docter red-dot sight, remove the rear sight on your gun and replace it with an EGW mount. You can swap the mount with your rear sight anytime you wish, and installation hardware comes with the mount. Rock Islands may require some minor modifications. Only qualified and competent gunsmiths should install and check EGW products.

Here are the instructions for installation:
1. Remove the rear sight*.
2. Install the EGW Sight Mount in the dovetail.
3. Tighten the set screw (if applicable).
4. Place the red dot sight on the EGW Sight Mount (using a small piece of paper between the red dot sight and the sight mount can make removal easier and will prevent Loctite from getting on the red dot sight).
5. Apply blue Loctite to the mounting screws provided.
6. Torque the mounting screws to 15 in/lbs.

The following screws are included with the mount:
- 2 Button Head Cap Screws for Vortex Viper and Venom Sights.
- 2 Flat Head Cap Screws for Burris FastFire and Docter Sights.
A 5/64'' allen wrench is needed for installing the screws.
