The REBCG is a 5.56mm M16/M4 bolt carrier group that is full-mass, full-auto rated. The carrier material is mil-spec 8620 steel, properly torqued, staked and chrome lined with a cam pin made of advanced medical steel known as H13. The cam pin is then coated with Nanoweapon (Chrome-Nitride), giving it maximum corrosion and wear resistance. The upper rails of the carrier are extended, providing greater stability and reliability during feeding. The Carrier is also coated with Nanoweapon for maximum corrosion and wear resistance.

The bolt, known as the Geissele Stressproof Bolt, is made from Carpenter 158. The steel is Carpenter 158+ which yields a material that is stronger and more consistent than what is typically specified by the US Government. The bolt is forged using the same process that is used to produce upper and lower receivers. Forging manipulates the grain structure of the metal, yielding a bolt that can last five times longer than a mil-spec bolt. Each bolt is rigorously inspected and high pressure tested, magnified particle inspected and coated with Nanoweapon for maximum corrosion and wear resistance.

Nanoweapon is a family of coatings similar to DSL, (Durable Solid Lubricant), and is only exclusive to Geissele Automatics. The research and development company that worked with Picatinny to develop the coating collaborated with Geissele's engineers for over three years to perfect the coating. It is at the top of the coating game and provides the highest level of resistance to corrosion, wear, and abrasion. Nanoweapon is applied at low temperatures, so it does not affect the metallurgy of the component part. The surface hardness equivalent of 82HRC is harder than sand, allowing for easy carbon rejection and minimal lubrication.
