Geissele offers the Geissele Reliability Enhancement Kit for 5.56mm AR-15 pattern rifles. It includes the Geissele Reliability Enhanced Bolt Carrier Group (REBCG) and the Geissele Super 42 Braided Wire Buffer Spring & Buffer that comes in your choice of H1, H2, or H3 configuration. The Geissele REK is the result of numerous years of extensive testing and fine-tuning to provide the most reliable upgrade to your carbine. The kit is manufactured in Geissele's sophisticated facility in North Wales, PA.
The REBCG is a 5.56mm full-mass, full-auto rated M16/M4 bolt carrier group that is machined from mil-spec 8620 steel. It features a chrome-lined, gas key that is properly torqued and staked. The cam pin is made from a highly advanced medical steel known as H13, which is coated with Nanoweapon (Chrome-Nitride) for maximum wear and corrosion resistance. The carrier has extended upper rails that amplify stability and significantly enhance feeding reliability. It is also coated with Nanoweapon for maximum wear and corrosion resistance.
The special Geissele Stressproof Bolt is made from Carpenter 158+ which is stronger and more consistent than the material specified by the US Government for the same application. Furthermore, Geissele forges the bolt using the same process used for upper and lower receivers. This process manipulates the metal's grain structure, and the result is a bolt that has a lifespan 5 times longer than a mil-spec bolt. Each bolt undergoes a meticulous inspection that includes a high-pressure test, mag particle inspection, and coating with Nanoweapon for maximum resistance to wear and corrosion.
Nanoweapon is a family of coatings akin to DSL that was created by Picatinny Arsenal (US ARMY ARDEC) and is exclusive to Geissele Automatics. After over three years of fine-tuning with Picatinny's R&D company, Geissele's engineers developed Nanoweapon into the pinnacle of coatings for firearm components. It is unmatched in its ability to resist corrosion, wear, and abrasion. It does not affect the metallurgy of the part because it is applied at low temperatures but has a surface hardness equivalent to 82HRC, making cleaning effortless and enabling the firearm to function well with less lubrication.
