MDT's first hunting-specific chassis is the MDT HNT26, designed for the ultimate lightweight experience while hunting. The chassis weight starts at 26oz for the complete magnesium and carbon-fiber build that includes a carbon fiber forend, carbon fiber grip, and foam-filled carbon fiber buttstock.
While the MDT Chassis Systems were initially designed for sports and tactical shooting, they noticed the popularity of their lighter chassis amongst hunters and decided to create a purpose-built system. The HNT26 features all the expected features of a rifle chassis, such as v-block bedding and LOP and comb adjustment, AICS magazine compatibility, and a free-floating barrel.
Additional features of the HNT26 include a foam-filled carbon fiber buttstock and carbon fiber components for warm, touch-feel, low profile mag latch, vertically adjustable cheek riser, and an adjustable spacer system, making its minimum length of pull 12.5”. The chassis accommodates barrels up to 1.25” diameter and is compatible with most AR grips, although it includes an ultra-lightweight carbon fiber grip at just over 1oz. The enclosed carbon fiber forend features MLOK, QD mount, and sling swivel mount, while the chassis is coated in a Cerekote finish and features titanium action and grip screws.
MDT sells the HNT26 Chassis as a complete hunting system, with a mag mount designed to flush into the hunting chassis, a 3-round polymer SA, and an AICS magazine necessary for completion.
