They are interchangeable, giving reloaders the freedom to select the ideal bushing for their needs. By reducing work hardening of the case neck brass, Steel Neck Bushings prolong case life and help improve accuracy.

To ensure proper alignment with the case neck, Steel Neck Bushings are self-centering. For best results, RCBS recommends using high-end brass with consistent neck thicknesses. The bushings come in bare steel so traditional case lubrication is required. Steel Neck Bushings should only be used with RCBS Gold Medal sizing dies.

RCBS recommends having neck bushings that are one to two sizes above and below the target diameter. This is a critical component in achieving extremely consistent-shooting ammunition with Gold Medal Match sizing dies.

Brownells Gun Tech™ Tip: There are two ways to select the Steel Neck Bushings needed. The first way is to measure the outside neck diameter of the loaded cartridge and subtract .002" to .003". This allows approximately .001" of brass to spring back for correct neck tension. The second way is to measure the neck wall thickness of the case, multiply by two, add the diameter of the bullet, and subtract .002" to .003".
