Designed for stability and durability, the Sinclair Competition Rest features a one-inch, solid steel base plate with a granite powder coating finish. This enables us to achieve a sizeable over 30 pounds unit with a low center of gravity while still maintaining a footprint that's no larger than other tripod rests currently on the market. This unit is nearly twice as heavy as our closest competitor.

In terms of portability, the Sinclair Competition Rest's base plate includes a machined carry handle, making it easy to maneuver despite its enormous weight. With this addition, there's no need for awkward or impossible two-arm lift methods.

For effortless operation, the rest has windage operation built directly into the steel base plate, which features dual sets of twin tapered roller bearings for non-binding, smooth operation. The oversized windage control knob, positioned near the rear speed screw, enables effortless, one-handed adjustment while offering nearly four feet of windage adjustment at 100 yards - enough for any bench shooting discipline. The oversized, fluted handwheel also offers smooth vertical adjustment aided by a thrust bearing. There's a non-windage-adjustable model available for shooters who prefer adjusting windage off the rear bag or anyone who doesn't need the windage-adjustable base block.

Additionally, the Sinclair Competition Rest is designed to be entirely ambidextrous, making it a perfect fit for right or left-handed shooters. The post, center column, controls, and windage adjustment disassemble and reassemble on the opposite side, providing a completely mirrored, left-hand use.

Durability is essential, and that's why the Sinclair Competition Rest comes with upgraded hardware, including a beefed-up center column (1.95" up from 1.375"), threaded post (1" diameter up from ¾"), leg screws (½" diameter up from 3⁄8"), and a large-diameter fluted speed screw - all made of high-grade stainless steel to stand against a lifetime of abuse. The Sinclair Competition Rest is also available with our All-Purpose Top, which features our updated Sinclair designed Edgewood Bag, easy adjust lockable bag ears, and a new forend stop.
